Despite being a lifelong walker and doing cardio vascular exercise at the gym a couple of times a week my weight had been steadily creeping up. This was not helped by my love of chocolate, flapjacks, and nuts. I realised a personal trainer might be able to help but I did not know how to go about finding someone interested and committed enough to help me change. I was also worried that it may be costly with no real results at the end.
Just as my weight tipped the scales at yet another level I noticed Revolution PTS at near Brighton station. I found the website and read the testimonials and thought that the people in the testimonials sounded just like me. I was impressed with their results and their weight loss.
The testimonials encouraged me to make enquiries and I spoke to Rob on the phone. He was very friendly and positive and I immediately sensed a genuine wish to help me. I met my personal trainer Susan and we discussed keeping a food diary and setting a weight loss goal. She also recommended that I have something that I could visualise achieving and I mentioned a skirt I wanted to wear but could not zip up.
Susan has been my ideal personal trainer. She is very professional and committed and pushes me to keep going. She is very knowledgeable and I have complete confidence in her. I am often surprised at what I can do.
All the trainers at the gym are welcoming and the gym has a happy friendly atmosphere. I have never felt out of place or self-conscious even from the beginning. Talking to the other clients I realise that many are nervous when they first come along.
I lost weight from the start although after the first few sessions my fitness became just as important to me as the weight loss. Susan has taught me how to use free weights and encouraged me to run on the treadmill which is something I have always wanted to do.
As my weight dropped it has felt good buying clothes and not being scared to look at the changing room mirror. It has also felt rewarding to find my dress size going down.
Trying new foods like sweet potato has been fun and I have come to realise that there is so much delicious food you can eat and still keep your weight down.
Over 12 weeks I lost an incredible 34lbs, and 9 inches from my waist. Even I cannot believe the change and 12 weeks on from the start of training I can now get that skirt on without undoing the zip 🙂
